Cuantos Tacos
Tacos and coffee on the same block. Default morning prep spot.
We opened in Austin in 2021 to put our product, engineering, and operator-recruiting teams in the same room. Most of our technical engagements — rebuilds, internal-tools, AI-enabled workflows — originate here. The studio is half-design, half-keyboard, all working surface.
Product managers, engineers, designers, and recruiting partners. The largest of our partner studios.
Production builds shipped from this studio in the last 24 months — ranging from internal tools to consumer apps.
Open studio, two pair-programming bays, a 12-seat workshop room, and a hardware lab for prototype work.
Senior engineering and product operators placed into client teams — many out of our Austin bench.
We're in a brick-and-timber warehouse on East 6th between San Marcos and Medina. Entrance is on the alley side — look for the steel awning. Reception is on the second floor; a BBD team member meets every visitor at street level.
Austin's tech corridor moved east a decade ago. We followed the operators we hire and the builders we work alongside. East Sixth is the neighborhood where the work is actually shipped.
Austin has the deepest mid-career product and engineering bench outside the Bay Area — and a much lower cost-of-build. Our recruiting partners can fill a senior role in weeks, not quarters.
Central Time covers East Coast clients before lunch and West Coast clients after. Most of our cross-coast standups happen on Austin's clock by default.
East Sixth still has builders, makers, and a working tempo — not a campus aesthetic. We chose a warehouse, not a tower, because the work happens at standing desks and whiteboards, not in conference rooms.
The Austin studio is built around production work. Most visits are scoped to a sprint review, a working session, or a hiring loop. Plan for the room to be loud and the whiteboards to be full.
Confirm the visit 48 hours ahead, bring photo ID for the building's keycard system, and arrive 10 minutes early. A BBD team member will meet you at the awning entrance on East 6th — the side door is the fastest route in.
Dress for Austin: smart-casual is over-dressed. The studio runs warm in summer; we keep a fridge of cold drinks at reception. Laptops, peripherals, and prototyping kit are welcome — we have spare monitors and dongles in the supply room.
On-site parking has 12 spaces — first-come during the day. The Plaza Saltillo lot is a 6-minute walk and reliably has space. We'll pre-book a car from AUS if you reply to your visit email.
East Sixth is well-served: CapMetro's Red Line stops at Plaza Saltillo six minutes away, downtown is a ten-minute drive, and AUS is 20 minutes outside of rush hour.
Take I-35 to East 6th and head east. Parking is on-site (12 spaces) or in the Plaza Saltillo public lot two blocks west.
Plaza Saltillo Station is a 6-minute walk down East 5th. Red Line runs from Leander through Downtown.
Twenty minutes by car off-peak, thirty in rush. We can pre-book a car — reply to the visit confirmation.
Ten-minute walk down East 6th from Congress, or 5 minutes by bike on the East 4th protected lane.
East Sixth has changed a lot — but the food, coffee, and walk-everywhere density are still its best feature. Spots our team books most often are below.
Tacos and coffee on the same block. Default morning prep spot.
Mexican — corn-forward, careful, and works for client lunches. Reserve.
Wine bar and small plates on East 7th. Our default for visiting-team dinners. Walk-up bar.
South Congress, 12-minute taxi. Calmer than downtown and has a real lobby for working.
South of Lady Bird. Pool, courtyard, and a quieter neighborhood. Better for multi-day visits.
Ten minutes south. Ten-mile loop or any portion. The studio's default running route.
East 3rd. Pocket park, shaded benches, useful for a 30-minute decompress.
Cocktail bar two blocks down. Patio, mezcal, and a low-key after-work vibe.
The Austin studio is one of ten BBD locations. Most engagements draw on more than one — if your work spans timezones, regulators, or markets, we'll route you to the right combination.
Miami headquarters and nine partner studios.
North America, the Caribbean, the UK, and East Asia.
From PT to JST — someone is online during your business hours.
English, French, Spanish, Mandarin, and Japanese on staff.
Strategy, Systems, and Brand studios. The center of gravity for every engagement — every founder's build runs through here.
Capital markets, investor relations, and East Coast operator network. Our default for fundraising-stage clients.
Product, engineering recruiting, and early-stage operator bench. Where most of our technical builds originate.
Industrial, logistics, and B2B operations specialists. The team that handles legacy-business modernization work.
Brand, content, and consumer-product studio. Closest to the Los Angeles creator economy and our entertainment clients.
Cross-border tax, immigration, and Canadian market entry. Our default for U.S. founders expanding north.
Pacific Northwest tech corridor and resource-economy clients. Bridges our West Coast and Asia-Pacific work.
Holding-company structuring, fund formation, and offshore corporate services. For clients with international footprints.
EU and UK market entry, FCA navigation, and our European operator bench. The hub for transatlantic work.
APAC market entry, supplier diligence, and Japan-specific corporate structuring. Our easternmost team.
Visits to the Austin studio are by appointment so we can pair the right person with the conversation — a 20-minute meet-and-greet, a 90-minute working session, or a full-day intensive. Start with a call; we'll take it from there.
