Erewhon Café
Inside The Commons. Espresso, smoothies, the studio default.
We opened in Calabasas in 2022 to be where most of our consumer-and-creator clients are based: north of the city, off the freeway grid, with the space to actually shoot, prototype, and build. The studio is half-design-bench, half-content-lab.
Brand designers, content directors, and consumer-product strategists. The most LA-rooted team in the network.
Brand systems delivered in the last 24 months — from creator-led DTC to entertainment IP.
Open studio, daylight ceiling, a small content shoot bay, and a 10-seat boardroom for client reviews.
Photographers, editors, voice talent, and post houses we partner with for shoots and content delivery.
We're on the third floor of Building C in The Commons at Calabasas, an open-air retail-and-office complex off the 101. Reception is on the third floor; visitors can park in the open-air lot and check in directly with us.
We could have taken a Culver City warehouse or a Beverly Hills floor. We chose Calabasas because the people we work with already live here — and the air, light, and quiet pace are part of the work.
More than half our consumer-product founders, talent partners, and creator-clients live within fifteen miles of the studio. Calabasas is twenty minutes from Malibu, thirty from Beverly Hills, and ten from the recording studios in Hidden Hills.
Brand work needs daylight and physical space. The Commons gives us a building, not a tower — ground-floor cafés, an open-air courtyard, and big windows. The work shows it.
Calabasas is unhurried by LA standards. Our work is, too. We make brands that age well; the neighborhood reflects that bias.
The Calabasas studio runs as a brand and content studio. Most visits are scoped to a brand review, a creative working session, or a half-day shoot. Casual is the norm.
Confirm the visit 48 hours ahead, plan to park in the open-air lot in front of Building C, and walk up to the third floor — we'll meet you at the suite door, not in a lobby. Validated parking covers four hours.
Smart-casual is over-dressed; the team works in jeans and the studio is barefoot-friendly on shoot days. Bring sunglasses — the courtyard is bright and most working sessions break outside.
From LAX it's 35-45 minutes off-peak, longer in rush. We can pre-book a car if you reply to your visit email. From Burbank (BUR), it's a 25-minute drive.
Calabasas is a car-first town. Plan for the freeway, but the studio is two minutes off the 101 with reliable parking on-site.
101 north or south to Lost Hills Road exit. Right at the off-ramp; The Commons is two minutes east on Commons Way. Validated parking on-site.
Take 405 north to 101 west. ~35 minutes off-peak, 75-90 minutes in rush. We can pre-book a car.
101 west to Lost Hills. Reliably 25 minutes off-peak. Often the better airport for visits.
Sunset to PCH and up Malibu Canyon, or 101 the whole way. ~30 minutes off-peak.
The Commons itself covers most lunch and coffee needs. For dinner and longer visits, the team's defaults are below.
Inside The Commons. Espresso, smoothies, the studio default.
Italian on the courtyard. Patio seating works for a working lunch.
Up Malibu Canyon. Founder-dinner default for visiting clients. Book ahead.
Ten minutes north on the 101. Comfortable for multi-day intensives, with a serious spa.
Up the canyon in Malibu. Quieter, slower, and a real reset for week-long visits.
Eight minutes east. 1.6-mile loop. Best morning-call walk in the area.
Ten-minute drive south. Trails, gardens, decompress.
Westlake Village. Patio, sunset light, end-of-day default.
The Calabasas studio is one of ten BBD locations. Most engagements draw on more than one — if your work spans timezones, regulators, or markets, we'll route you to the right combination.
Miami headquarters and nine partner studios.
North America, the Caribbean, the UK, and East Asia.
From PT to JST — someone is online during your business hours.
English, French, Spanish, Mandarin, and Japanese on staff.
Strategy, Systems, and Brand studios. The center of gravity for every engagement — every founder's build runs through here.
Capital markets, investor relations, and East Coast operator network. Our default for fundraising-stage clients.
Product, engineering recruiting, and early-stage operator bench. Where most of our technical builds originate.
Industrial, logistics, and B2B operations specialists. The team that handles legacy-business modernization work.
Brand, content, and consumer-product studio. Closest to the Los Angeles creator economy and our entertainment clients.
Cross-border tax, immigration, and Canadian market entry. Our default for U.S. founders expanding north.
Pacific Northwest tech corridor and resource-economy clients. Bridges our West Coast and Asia-Pacific work.
Holding-company structuring, fund formation, and offshore corporate services. For clients with international footprints.
EU and UK market entry, FCA navigation, and our European operator bench. The hub for transatlantic work.
APAC market entry, supplier diligence, and Japan-specific corporate structuring. Our easternmost team.
Visits to the Calabasas studio are by appointment so we can pair the right person with the conversation — a 20-minute meet-and-greet, a 90-minute working session, or a full-day intensive. Start with a call; we'll take it from there.
