Chapter 01 · How We Engage

Four ways
to work with us.

We offer four engagement shapes — a paid written diagnostic, a 30-day founder's build, a scoped intervention on a single pillar, and an ongoing retainer for the year after launch. Each one is sized to a different decision; the front door for anyone without a prior relationship is the Verdict.

One standard.
Four scopes.

The scope changes. The bench doesn't. Every engagement — a seven-day Verdict or a year-long Retainer — runs on the same senior-led model, the same operating cadence, and the same written artifacts. We scale the shape to the decision, not the decision to the shape.

ENG 00 · DIAGNOSTIC7 DAYS · $500

The Verdict

A paid, written diagnostic. A senior operator walks the business across eight dimensions and returns a written verdict inside seven days — with one of four explicit recommendations, including the option to do nothing.

Chapter 02 · Engagement 00 · The Verdict

The diagnostic
before the build.

The Verdict is a paid, written assessment of a company at a single point in time — the document a founder asks for when they want a real read on the business before committing to a build, a retainer, or any decision more expensive than the assessment itself. The front door for anyone without a prior relationship.

ENG 00 · DIAGNOSTIC

The
Verdict.

A senior operator walks the business, scores it across eight working dimensions, and returns a written verdict inside seven days: where things stand, what's actually breaking, and what to do next. Every Verdict ends with one of four explicit recommendations — including the option to do nothing more with us at all.

THE VERDICT FLOW

Four phases.
Seven business days.

PHASE 01 · DAY 0
Intake

A 60-minute structured call. Stage, revenue, motion, friction. The senior chair asks the questions a sharp investor or a hostile competitor would.

PHASE 02 · DAYS 1–3
Walk-through

Eight dimensions — offer, ICP, traffic, conversion, capture, sales, delivery, founder OS. Each scored against thirty-day revenue impact, not best practice.

PHASE 03 · DAYS 4–6
Written Verdict

The full Verdict document. Executive verdict, three to five named issues, a prioritized 30-day queue, and the path-forward recommendation.

PHASE 04 · DAY 7
Readout

A 30-minute call. Walk the document. Defend the verdict. Resolve open questions. The document is the deliverable; the readout is the warranty.

Chapter 03 · Engagement 01 · The Founder's Build

Idea to launch-ready
in thirty days.

The Founder's Build is our flagship. A month of concentrated senior work that takes a company from unformed intent to a running foundation — brand, systems, and a live go-to-market motion. It's intense, it's cross-functional, and it ends with a company that can be operated.

Chapter 04 · Engagement 02 · The Targeted Build

One gap,
landed cleanly.

The Targeted Build is for companies that are already in motion but have a specific piece that isn't working. A 48-hour discovery defines the scope; a compressed 4–12 week sprint executes it — without disrupting the rest of the business.

ENG 02 · SCOPED FAST

The Launch Retainer keeps the relationship live. Weekly decision sessions, monthly benchmarks, and continuous adjustment to what's working in the market — designed for founders who've finished a Founder's Build and want to keep the thread tight through the first year.

ENG 03 · PARTNERSHIP

The Launch

Chapter 07 · Decision Guide

Which one
fits the moment?

The consultation will answer this for you — but here's the shorthand. Match the signals to the shape; if more than one fits, the call is the right place to resolve it.

SIGNALS · ENG 00

Pick The Verdict
if …

  • You don't have a prior relationship with us and aren't ready to commit to a build.
  • You want a written second opinion before the next dollar is committed.
  • You can't yet name which pillar is the problem — or whether the problem is structural.
  • A board, an investor, or a future operator wants a documented read on the business.
  • You want the option to credit the fee against a Founder's or Targeted Build later.
ENG 00 · The Verdict
SIGNALS · ENG 01

Pick The Founder's Build
if …

  • You're pre-launch, or two weeks from it and nervous.
  • You have the idea and the capital, but no operating scaffolding.
  • The brand, the product, and the go-to-market are all still drafts.
  • You want one team to land all four pillars without stitching vendors together.
  • You need a foundation you can hand to a future team and have them run it.
ENG 01 · The Founder's Build
SIGNALS · ENG 02

Pick The Targeted Build
if …

  • You're already launched — the company works, but a specific thing doesn't.
  • You can name the gap in one sentence: brand, ops, web, or motion.
  • A full rebuild would be overkill; you need surgical, not structural.
  • You want a fixed fee and a fixed end date against that specific gap.
  • You need the answer inside a quarter, not a year.
ENG 02 · The Targeted Build
SIGNALS · ENG 03

Pick The Launch Retainer
if …

  • You've just finished a Founder's or Targeted Build and the thread is still warm.
  • You want senior pattern-recognition in the room every week, not every quarter.
  • Your team is strong enough to execute but not yet dense enough to self-diagnose.
  • The first year of a company is the year you want an outside eye on.
  • You'd rather prevent drift than rebuild from it.

Chapter 08 · Shared Commitments

What doesn't change
across engagements.

The shape scales. The standard doesn't. Every engagement — 30 days or twelve months — runs on the same commitments. These are the constants.

CONSTANT 01

A senior in the chair

Every engagement is led by a senior operator. The person who sold the work does the work — no handoff to junior delivery.

CONSTANT 02

A written diagnostic

Every engagement opens with a written Diagnostic Report inside 48 hours — even the ones that don't become engagements.

CONSTANT 03

Fixed scope, fixed fee

Pricing is agreed before work starts. No hourly surprises, no open meters. Scope changes are explicit and signed.

CONSTANT 04

Built to be owned

Every deliverable is designed for the client team to run without us. If it can't be walked through, it isn't finished.

CONSTANT 05

Portal & artifacts

Documents, updates, and conversations live in one portal — so nothing ages out in a thread or gets lost between tools.

CONSTANT 06

Formal handoff

Closeouts are a ceremony, not an email. Walkthrough, written package, open questions resolved before sign-off.

CONSTANT 07

Aftercare window

Every engagement ends with a paid-for aftercare window — 14 or 30 days — to catch the edges the live system surfaces.

CONSTANT 08

An open door

The relationship doesn't end when the invoice clears. Clients come back for second engagements more often than not.

09
Chapter 09 · Common Questions

Things founders
ask on the call.

The questions we hear most on the first consultation. Full answers live in the conversation — these are the short versions.

Q · 01What's the cheapest way to start working with you?+
The Verdict — $500 for a written diagnostic delivered inside seven business days. It's the front door for anyone without a prior relationship. About a third of Verdicts close with "do nothing more with us right now," and the founder keeps the document anyway. If the Verdict recommends a Founder's or Targeted Build and the engagement is booked within thirty days of the readout, the $500 is credited against that engagement.
Q · 02Can I start with a Launch Retainer without doing a Founder's Build first?+
Generally no. The Retainer is designed to compound on a foundation we already understand. Without a Founder's Build (or an equivalent Targeted engagement) we don't have the shared baseline the weekly sessions depend on. If you've built elsewhere and want to move straight to retainer, we'll usually run a short Targeted engagement first to close the knowledge gap.
Q · 03Is thirty days really enough for a Founder's Build?+
For the pillars we commit to — yes. The Founder's Build is not "everything a company will ever need." It's a working foundation: positioning, operating cadence, brand, a primary surface, and a launched go-to-market motion. Deep category strategy, extensive product engineering, and mature ops maturation happen after — usually via a Retainer.
Q · 04What if scope changes mid-engagement?+
Scope changes are explicit, written, and signed. We'd rather flag early and re-scope than absorb drift and deliver something the original brief didn't promise. Minor adjustments inside the original intent are absorbed; structural changes become their own line item.
Q · 05Do you work with companies post product-market fit?+
Often — usually through Targeted Builds or a Launch Retainer. The Founder's Build is optimized for pre-launch or very early teams; once there's genuine traction, the work tends to concentrate on specific pillars rather than the whole foundation.
Q · 06How do you price the engagements?+
Founder's and Targeted Builds are fixed program fees, agreed before work begins. The Retainer is a monthly fee with a three-month minimum. We don't bill hourly — the incentive should be to finish the work well, not to extend it.
Q · 07Which office will I work with?+
The one that best matches your engagement — geographically, industry-wise, or functionally. Most engagements are delivered remotely from the closest office; the information desk routes new inquiries to the right lead on the first call.
Q · 08What happens after an engagement ends?+
You get a written handoff, a walkthrough with the team, and either 14 or 30 days of aftercare. After that the engagement is formally closed — though most clients either step into a Retainer or come back for a second engagement inside twelve months.
Q · 09Can we start with a conversation before committing?+
Yes — every engagement begins that way. The 30-minute consultation is free, and the written Diagnostic that follows is yours to keep whether we move forward or not.
10 / GET STARTED

Start with a call.
Leave with a diagnostic.

Four engagements, one ladder. Most founders start with a Verdict — a $500 written diagnostic that ends with one of four explicit recommendations. The rest start with a free 30-minute consultation.
